Michele Bachmann and her Tea Party friends are extremely dumb but dangerous nonetheless

We first heard from them a couple of years ago. Most Americans were sick and tired of the Bush administration and elected our first black President. All of a sudden there was hope. We had a President who cared about us all, not just about the elite. Unacceptable for Conservative Republicans who answered by founding the Tea Party.

The first Tea Party member who grabbed the microphone to talk about her morals and values was Michele Bachmann, who started a whole new tradition of making stuff up and promoting the idea that Obama was an anti-American. From that moment on politicians, especially Conservative Christian Tea Party members, yell anything they want, without backing it up.

And that is pretty much what they have been doing ever since. Rick Santorum made up a story about how the elderly in liberal countries were afraid to be euthanized by their doctor and therefore refused to go to the hospital. He said that this was how America would end up if we reelected Obama. Not true of course. Conservative Christian organizations in the countries he mentioned had to admit never to have heard such a story. Santorum backed his claim up with no examples, but he was talking to older people, who were crying anyway because their President tried to kill them. A couple in the audience even cancelled a trip to Europe out of fear of what could happen there.

It’s hard to believe that people are dumb and uninformed enough to believe everything they hear, but unfortunately it’s true. Many Tea Party supporters only watch Fox, where telling the truth and fact checking can have severe consequences. Many Conservative Christians are so naive that they believe that people like Bachmann and Santorum are sincere Christians who therefore will always tell the truth.

No one who has ever been in Congress has been caught lying more often than Michele Bachmann, famous for thinking that Libya is in Europe and therefore a problem that should be dealt with by European countries. Michele Bachmann is so uninformed, it’s a disgrace for any country to have a politician like her. But that does not mean that she is not dangerous.

I used to think that uninformed people couldn’t be very dangerous but I was wrong. The danger is not that anyone who had a little bit of education will listen to her. No matter Democrats, independents, moderate Republicans or libertarians, they all laugh at her. The problem is that those who listen to her are not informed at all. They never read a newspaper and if they watch the news, they watch Fox and remain uninformed.

Spreading fear, and nothing else, is what energizes the Tea Party base. At CPAC last week the biggest lies got the loudest applause. Michele Bachmann made up a story that Obama hired a dog walker because he was too lazy to do it himself, thereby proving that spending was the problem. And yesterday, Michele Bachmann said that ObamaCare kills people.

We all know Obama didn’t hire a dog walker. Bachmann was lying again. But the CPAC people are still angry because of it. ObamaCare doesn’t kill people but Bachmann has uninformed people worrying about it anyway. And these are innocent examples. But what about telling people that Obama killed four Americans in Benghazi? They actually believe it. What about comparing Obama to Hitler? What about calling our President anti-American? What about calling a completely decent and innocent girl from Arabian descent, a spy for a moslem terrorist organization? All lies, none of it is true, but the uninformed Tea audience believes it. They are convinced that this President and his administration work for the enemy and no one tells them that it’s a lie.

And that is a dangerous situation. It is meant to create hate and it does. In Politics, in social media, you see it everywhere. All of it is based on lies and almost all those lies are told by Conservative Christian Tea Party members. It is dangerous. Because what if a Bachmann fan actually believes Obama works for the enemy and in an ultimate attempt to ‘save’ his country, tries to hurt our President? What if other people who are called enemies, will be attacked?

The support for the Tea Party is shrinking. The more extreme they get, the more decent Republicans will leave. But even if there are not many left, you only need one idiot who is naive enough to believe all those lies, to potentially cause a huge drama.

We as a country are going in the right direction, but racism, bigotry and the endless lies of Tea Party Politicians are very dangerous. Not because they will ever get a majority, but because dumb people believe them. By now our society is filled with hate and it’s time to stop that. That is why I think our focus as human beings, but also the focus of the Democrats as a party, should be to get rid of fear spreading Tea people like Michele Bachmann.

The Tea Party may be good for Democrats, because as long as they are around, there will never be a Republican President again. But it is too easy to call it a Republican problem. The constant lying and fear mongering is poison to our society. It’s also our problem. To end their hate, all we have to do is unseat them. Once that happens their sponsors will leave and instead of hearing them every day, Tea Politicians will disappear from the scene.

Bachmann almost lost the elections to Jim Graves, even though she had a much bigger budget. I am convinced that with more help from the Democrats, people like Bachmann can actually be unseated. There are more sane than insane people and I am convinced that with enough budget and good candidates, Democrats can unseat the biggest haters. No way that Bachmann will ever win an election again if we make sure the majority of the voters are informed about who she actually is.

Call me optimistic but our biggest worry should not be who will be President in 2016. Demographics and a heavily divided GOP will make sure it will be a Democrat anyway. Our focus should be on districts where Democrats are running against Tea Party candidates. Many of us don’t seem to realize that in most cases, beating a Tea Party candidate is easier than beating a moderate Republican.

If we focus on the right things this can be a win-win situation. We can win seats, take back the House, exterminate the Tea Party and end their hate. And for the sake of dignity, I suggest that we start with unseating the dumbest Politician our Nation has ever had: National disgrace Michele Bachmann.

The only chance for the GOP to survive is to get rid of the Tea Party

Now that the elections are over and ended in the landslide that could have been expected, it’s time to move on. It’s time to realize we are all American, who almost all want the best for our country.

But what happened yesterday might change American politics forever. Because it is very clear that if the GOP ever wants to have a Republican President in the White House again, they will need to change a lot of things first.

Political games of trying to stop people from voting all backfired. There are so many reports of Tea Party politicians who did everything they could to make sure people waiting in line couldn’t get access to simple things like water. We’ve seen robocalls organized by Tea Party activists trying to send voters to the wrong voting location. We’ve seen so many tricks that made it more difficult for certain groups to be allowed to vote and all those tricks were meant to hurt those who tend to vote Democratic. And they all backfired.

Because by trying all they could to stop people from voting, they activated the Democratic base better than any Democrat could have ever done. People got an attitude that no one was gonna take their right to vote away and the harder it got for them to vote, the longer they had to wait, the more determined they were to do it. These elections proved that voter suppression will not work any longer. It backfired. And that is a good thing. A good thing for Democrats, but also for decent Republicans. But there is more.

The Tea Party tried to take the GOP over by attacking moderate Republicans and replacing them by Tea Party candidates. All those Tea Party candidates lost yesterday. It’s probably the clearest message ever given to the Tea Party. Moderate Republicans and independent voters refuse to vote for Tea Party candidates. All their efforts, all their money, all their manipulation, it helped nothing. Their extreme ideas resulted in a landslide for the Democrats.

I just saw a Tea Party spokeswoman on TV claiming the problem has been that Romney was too moderate. And I can’t stop shaking my head. How dumb can a person be? Moderate Republicans didn’t lose yesterday, Tea extremists lost. A lot of decent Republicans don’t agree with many things the President did, but they don’t want a country based on hate, they don’t want a society in which one party tries to make sure voters from the other party won’t be allowed to vote. They want to criticize a President on the issues instead of criticizing him for the sake of criticizing. They don’t want to hear false claims about Obama’s birth certificate, they’re not bigots, They don’t want to force others to live by their religious rules, they want freedom for all, not for some. It’s those Republicans that still are the majority, but they have been awfully quiet while extremists took their party over. And they better hurry up taking it back, because if they don’t act real soon, they might be too late.

The electorate is changing. More and more people, especially from minority groups, who used to stay home on Election day, start turning up to vote. More and more see and believe that their vote actually does matter. America doesn’t change, the difference is that the group of people who actually vote becomes more and more representative for what America actually is.

It has been said a lot. If everybody would vote in her or his best interest, the GOP wouldn’t have had a President in the last decades. It used to be the case that some were so uninformed that they voted against their own interest, but more important, a lot of people didn’t vote for their own interest, because they didn’t vote at all.

That seems to be history. More and more young people, women and minorities show up on election day and while writing it I wonder why we still call it the minority vote. It’s the American vote, the only difference is that more and more Americans join the Democratic process.

And that is something to worry about for Republicans, who didn’t even try to get those groups to vote for them. The time that white middle aged men decided what happened in our country is over. We all decide now. We all have access to a lot of information now, we can all check the facts ourselves, and as it looks, we all want to vote.

And that America, in which we are all equal is the reason why some people gathered in the Tea Party. They will never say it, but they don’t want that kind of America. They want an America where men are working and women are at home, taking care of the kids. They will not admit it but they have a feeling that it’s not good that minorities can decide who is President and who is not. They obviously hate gays and people who don’t share their interpretation of a religion. And you’re only entitled to freedom if your interpretation of freedom is exactly the same as theirs. And there is no negotiation about anything. Either you’re with them, or you’re not a Patriot.

The elections showed us that the Tea Party in fact is the minority. Most people don’t want to have anything to do with them. And that will only get worse.  More and more people who want to live a life that the Tea Party disapproves of, will come out and vote. More and more new voters will join the Democratic process and almost none of them will agree with Tea Party values. And that’s a big problem for the GOP.

While the electorate will get more and more moderate, you don’t want to get more and more extreme. And even though President Obama did a great job the last four years, the decent GOP would have had a good chance to beat him. But not this GOP, because they don’t relate to the average voter.

This has been Romney’s problem. He had to go so far to the right to satisfy Tea extremists who paid his campaign, that normal people didn’t want to vote for him. Republicans lost Senate seats and in almost all cases because Tea candidates lost their campaigns. They may relate to 10% of the people, but the other 90% from left to decent right, are out of reach for them. A moderate Republican has way more in common with Obama than with Bachmann.

If the GOP wants to survive they will have to relate to the new electorate. People from all races, from all religions, who all want to live a good and happy life without a bunch of zealots telling them what they can and can’t do. And relating to that new electorate is impossible as long as those who hate that new electorate are the ones who pay your campaign.

Politicians always say they are not afraid to make big choices. And this is one the GOP needs to make. Either they continue to obey the Tea Party and by doing so, accept that their role will be minimalized to some red States or throw the extremists out, return to humanity and to the way the GOP used to be.

It’s up to the GOP whether they want to have a future or whether they prefer to continue their hate till the end. And in that case the end will probably come sooner than later.

This election is not only about the Economy but also about Human Dignity

It’s unbelievable that the race for the Presidency is as close as it seems to be. And even though I expect Obama to win it by more than a small margin, it should have been a sure thing by now.

Obama started as President in a country that was totally messed up, more than it has been in the last seven decades. He took care of the mess, invested in new programs like ObamaCare, gave the Middle Class important Tax Cuts, saved important industries, took care of wars we shouldn’t be in, killed Bin Laden and now after four years we have a growing Economy and a falling unemployment number.

President Obama’s first term is nothing else than a big success and that should be the first reason to let him finish his job.

But there is second, and maybe even more important reason to not let the current GOP take this country over. It is for the sake of dignity that we shouldn’t allow that to happen.

People can have different opinions on economic issues. Should Obama have done a better job or not? Of course the Republicans say yes, of course the Democrats say no. And those differences are all ok. We don’t have to agree on things like that, I think it’s even a good thing that there are different opinions on those issues. But the biggest difference between the Democrats and the current GOP is something else.

Ever since the Tea Party was founded, based on morals, decency and dignity, all morals, decency and dignity seems to have left the GOP. Lately it happens every day that some Republican yells something so stupid that you wonder if he or she really said that. It happens so often that we’re almost not even shocked by it anymore. I don’t even know where to begin.

Should I begin with the birther issue? No President ever was asked for a birth certificate, but the first black President can show it ten times and they still won’t stop. Or should I start about the latest Donald Trump scam, arrogant as he is, offering five million dollars for college records? Without any respect, he has been stalking the President with lies for years now, and instead of apologizing, he now wants to buy our President. And the GOP is silent and accepts, sometimes even cheers it.

Or should I start with a GOP Senator, who says you can’t get pregnant from rape, suggesting that every woman who is pregnant after rape is lying about it? Or another GOP Senator, who claims that if you are a rape victim it was God’s will?

Or should I start with another GOP prominent who can’t imagine a reason to vote for President Obama, other than race. So if one of our biggest heroes, Colin Powell, endorses Obama, it must be because of the color of his skin. So ignorant and so insulting. And the GOP is quiet!

And these are just a couple of examples. Tea Party members like Michele Bachmann openly suggest that a person that looks like an Arabian could very well be a terrorist, Sarah Palin is ignorant on a daily basis. If I want to give all the examples I have got, this would be the longest blog post in history.

And while this all happens, the decent part of the GOP is silent. As silent as they’ve ever been. John McCain almost joins the disgusting part of his party, while the man used to be the perfect example of a good Republican. Rudy Giuliani, a very decent man, is also quiet just like all the other moderates.

Republicans seem to be in a contest of who has the most extremist stances. If one Republican says something ridiculous, the next one feels the need to want to beat him and go even further. We have to judge things for what they are. There is no decent GOP anymore. At least not now. The GOP is not what it used to be. They lost all dignity.

A vote for the current GOP is a vote for the party that says your daughter didn’t get pregnant from rape. She must have enjoyed it. And if your wife gets raped it was Gods will. If you see someone from Arabian descent, it is probably a terrorist and you can only back the President because he is black.

That is what you’re voting for if you vote for the GOP in this election, because that is all we hear. And while the extremists take over, no one steps up. There are not just a few extremists, there’s a whole bunch of them. The decent ones in the GOP are the minority by now.

There are many good reasons to vote for Obama. But in my view there are also many good reasons to refuse to vote for the GOP, even if you are a Republican, even if you agree with their stances on economic or foreign policy issues.

I believe that most people are not pure evil. I believe that most people don’t want to live in a world where a couple of 60 year old white men are telling your daughter that she wasn’t raped. I believe that most people are not racist, and don’t want race or religion to divide us.

And if any of that is the case, then it’s simple. Either you vote against your morals and support those you might agree with on economic issues but who will change America into a hateful country where bigotry rules.

Or you refuse to join them, you refuse to go along with a country based on hate. You refuse to live in a place where they treat rape victims as criminals, and American heroes like Colin Powell as idiots.

This election is not only between Republicans and Democrats, it is between hate and human dignity, it’s between the lowest morals we’ve seen in a century versus a decent society.

And the choice should be easy. Even if you used to vote Republican.

The hypocrisy of those who abuse Religion to reach their Political goals

Bible (Photo credit: Sean MacEntee)

We see it a lot. People who try to work their way up in the religious world, try to get themselves in a situation where they get a lot of respect from religious people and then abuse the power they gained for their political goals. We all know the founding fathers were clear about the role religion should play in Politics. None. Believe in a dead squirrel if you want, in a flying elephant, do whatever you want, but don’t think for even a second that what you believe in gives you the right to tell others what to do.

This automatically means that church leaders, or others who have worked their way up in religion and often living a fantastic life, paid for by their ‘sheep’, shouldn’t abuse their position to give people advice who they should vote for. Because that would mean that a position they’re in because of religion gives them the right to meddle into politics.

A religious leader can tell the believers they should dance naked around a dead horse before they can drink water, he can tell them they shouldn’t have sex before they turn fifty, he can tell them whatever he wants as long as it’s not about Politics. Unfortunately they keep on doing so. Worst thing is that they’re not even consequent.

World record holder in hypocrisy is Teavangelical Billy Graham. All his life he has been saying that Mormonism has got nothing to do with Christianity. One conversation with Mormon prophet Mitt Romney and all of a sudden he changed his mind. In that half an hour Romney apparently changed his religion so, that Billy Graham all of a sudden thinks Romney is a Christian and starts campaigning for him.

Billy Graham is not the only hypocrite. A year ago I defended Mitt Romney against Tea Party people who were all convinced Romney was not a Christian and therefore wanted others to be their candidate. I defended Romney cuz religion doesn’t matter. I don’t care what a President believes in. It shouldn’t matter. I only started attacking Romney on his faith after he attacked President Obama on his faith. If you believe the Bible is written on Golden Plates that you can only read with some magic spectacles, it’s not really smart to criticize someone else on his faith. But that still doesn’t change the fact that religion shouldn’t matter. I don’t have a problem with what Romney believes in, I have a problem because Romney has a problem with the Presidents faith.

The hypocritical thing almost all Tea People have in common is that they say religion is the most important thing in their life, but they’re willing to change the rules however they need to, to reach their political goals. The same Tea People who said Romney was not a Christian a year ago, now cheer him as a Christian leader. Hypocrite Billy Graham criticized Mormons all his life, now all of a sudden he needs a Mormon to get Obama out of the White House and guess what? All of a sudden it’s a totally Christian thing that the Bible was written on Golden Plates, nothing happened in Israel, it all happened in America, and all of a sudden God is not everywhere but on the planet Kolob. All of a sudden those are all good old Christian views.

It proves that Billy Graham’s faith is a big joke. He is a professional Christian, who cares more about Politics than about being consequent in what he believes in.  If faith is the most important thing in your life, you are not willing to compromise no matter what. Billy Graham his Bible is still the same as a year ago but now that Politics made it so that he needed to change his mind, all of a sudden his opinion about that Bible is totally different.

By doing so, he proved that his faith is nothing more than an instrument to reach his Political goals. Everything he says in the name of his Lord should from now on be seen as a scam, a trick to manipulate his people, the innocent victims, the sheep. He is a hypocrite. And all those Tea People who also changed their mind, all proved that Politics is more important to them than their faith. They should never say again that faith is the most important thing for them.

This whole scam once again shows us that there is a lot of work to do, before religion and Politics are two different things. I’m still waiting for that to ever happen. That is how the founding Fathers wanted it to be. People like Billy Graham and the whole Tea scam with him talk about the Founding Fathers a lot,  but tend to forget the most important things they had to say.

The GOP will not be able to overcome their biggest problem: the Tea Party.

Romney (Photo credit: Talk Radio News Service)

It is obvious that Romney is in a lot of trouble. Turns out the country is not doing as bad as they try to tell us, Obama is actually doing a great job and the approval rate for his work is higher every week.

But the approval for the President is not the only problem Romney has to deal with. An even bigger problem is that the Romney campaign doesn’t seem to be able to unite the GOP and that gets him in trouble over and over again. Being a Democrat, I’m actually happy that his campaign is in trouble. But it would be too easy to blame his campaign for everything. In the end the biggest problem the GOP has is the Tea Party. And that problem will turn out to be impossible to overcome.

When Republicans were having their election to pick out their candidate, it was clear from the beginning that Romney was the only candidate who could have a chance to beat President Obama. All the others were more or less representing the Tea Party and would never be able to win the moderate and independent vote.

Once Romney became the candidate, his campaign had to serve two different groups. Tea people and regular Republicans. And even though they act is if they want the same things, they actually don’t. The same Tea people who were disgusted with Romney for a long time, who hated him for being a Mormon, who hated his moderate views and called him ‘Obama number two’ now all of a sudden have to act as if they like him. But they don’t. If any of them will vote for Romney, they will only do that because they hate Obama more than they hate Romney. No Tea conservative will vote for Romney because they like him.

But if the Romney campaign wants all the Tea extremists to get out and vote, they need to communicate the things those people want to hear. They need to blame Obama for things no one can be blamed for, they need to communicate extreme thoughts about China, Russia and the Middle East. Romney also needs to make birther jokes and has to be as low and disgusting as he possibly can about President Obama, to convince Tea people that he is their man.

On the other hand no one wins an election without the moderate vote. Independents and moderate Republicans, who do not base their lives on Tea hate, also need to be convinced that Romney is their man. And as it turns out, it is impossible to make both those groups happy with one candidate.

Not all Republicans are evil. There are a lot of them who just make different choices, who want the government to play a different role in society, but who still care if people are sick, homeless and in trouble. Spreading hate and using war language is not the way to convince them. In an attempt to satisfy them, Romney has been telling them that he will for example not repeal everything ObamaCare related. Because those people actually care about it if others are sick and can’t afford healthcare.

But on the same day, or day later, Romney is campaigning for a Tea Party audience. Conservative Christians who don’t want to live in a country where the less fortunate have the same rights as they do. And Romney needs to convince them that he will repeal all of Obamacare. Because if he doesn’t promise that, they will think of him as Obama number two and stay home on November 6th.

ObamaCare is only an example. The difference between moderates and Tea extremists is huge no matter what we are talking about. Moderates are sick and tired of all those wars but conservative Christians will not vote for you if you refuse to use war language. Moderates think that the richest people should also pay taxes. Conservative Christians don’t understand why they are against that, but they got told that it doesn’t work like that, so they oppose any plan to make the richest couple percent, also pay their fair share.

The problem Romney faces is not so much Romney or his campaign. Ever Since Tea extremists gathered in their party they went so far to the right that it is impossible to unite them with the moderate and decent part of the GOP. He won’t admit it, certainly not until the elections are over, but a moderate Republican like Rudy Giuliani must come home at night and bang his head against the wall if he hears what people like Bachmann and Santorum have to say. His thoughts and ideas are way closer to Obama’s ideas than they are to Tea Party central.

And as it turns out, the only way to serve all Republicans is to tell one part of the GOP one thing, and tell the other part something else. And that is what the Romney campaign has been doing so far, that is what makes him unreliable, that is why people don’t trust him and why whatever he says, people doubt if he really means it. The only fanatical Romney supporters are those who hate Obama enough to settle for anyone else, no matter who it is.

Even though the Romney campaign made some big mistakes, the problem is more structural and I don’t think it will ever be solved. I think this is a game changer that will change the GOP. It might even be the start of what will become a third party. Maybe the moderates in the GOP will finally stand up and say enough is enough and take their party back. In that case the Tea Party might actually become a separate party, not related to the GOP. And if that doesn’t happen, and I expect it won’t, then moderates, those who are not addicted to war, will unite in a third party.

There is no way that moderate Republicans can unite with Tea Party Republicans. They have nothing in common. They act as if, but it’s obvious that it doesn’t work. A couple of weeks before the election no one is going to stand up and talk about the differences in the GOP but it’s crystal clear that after the elections, and the landslide I expect, they will sit down and realize what happened to their party.

I think this is going to be the end of the GOP as we know it. People can only act as if they’re friends for a certain amount of time. Right now they try to act as if they’re one party but they’re not. There are two parties in the GOP. The moderate Republicans vs. the Tea zealots, who only want freedom for those who agree with them, who think they have the right to decide whether you are a Christian or not, who think you can only be a Patriot If you agree with them. They will never accept anything else than their opinion, they will never be happy as long as the goal is freedom for all, they will never be happy as long as they can’t force others to live by their religious rules, they will never be satisfied in a society or a party that is not based on hate. And not only have they been insulting women, minorities and human dignity, they have also insulted their party and the moderates in it.

I don’t think Politics will be over after the elections. I think we will see big changes in the next couple of years. Decent Republicans and Tea People will both come to the conclusion that they can’t be in the same party. The only question left is which part of the GOP will leave the party. It’s gonna be interesting. And we can sit back, relax and enjoy the circus, while enjoying the second term of our brilliant President.

If Liberalism is a disease, I’m happy to be sick!

It’s one of those things conservative Christians will say. Liberalism is a disease.

paul-ryan-grannie (Photo credit: Majordomo2012)

We should of course not expect any explanation why that would be the case. I almost got used to it, they yell stuff, they don’t back it up but in the braindead world most of them live in, saying something automatically means it’s true. They don’t need facts or statistics. Just saying something is enough.

I have to be more specific, I’m not talking about a couple decent conservatives who actually know what they are talking about. They exist! But they also all laugh at Tealiban people like Bachmann. I’m not talking about them, I’m talking about almost all Christian Conservatives. Some of them learn in church that they’re not supposed to lie, but they have this secret part of the bible that says lying is ok as long as you can brainwash people with it. A certain part of the Christian Conservatives are the liars, the others are naive victims of those lies. They actually believe that Liberals are against God, Family, Country and so on.

By the way, in the not very often used brain of most Christian Conservatives, a liberal, a socialist, a communist and a moslem-terrorist are all the same thing. Ask them if there is a difference between liberalism and socialism and they won’t know what to say.

Under the Obama Administration, the most dangerous moslem extremists are already killed, I don’t even need to go into that allegation. Communism more or less failed everywhere in the world, is based on a theory that proved not to work. In the Western World there are only a few communists left. The two serious ideologies left would be Liberalism and Socialism.

In all other countries Liberals are considered to be right wing and socialist are left wing. Liberals don’t want the Government to have a big role, Socialist think the role of the government should be bigger. Both though, think that all people should have equal chances in life. Socialism is a bit more focused on having an equal life and liberalism is more focused on having an equal chance in life. But in any other country than America, liberals and socialists are opposites. We also have our differences in the US, but for both Liberals and Socialists, in the current political circumstances, the Democratic Party is the only option.

In America everything is different because there are only two parties. There is a Republican party that claims to be the only one that is about freedom. They often forget to mention that with freedom, they actually mean the freedom to agree with them, because if you don’t you have a problem. They claim to be the party of the American Dream. We all know the heartbreaking stories of someone who made it in life, against all odds, and it’s brilliant to hear things like that. Nice stories, but the reason we all remember those stories is because they don’t happen a lot. The American Dream turned out to be a lame excuse to sit and watch how people suffer, while not doing anything to help them, because you once heard a brilliant story. The Republican Party also falsely claims to be the only religious party. They base everything they do on a secret part of the Bible that no one else ever read. I don’t remember reading about Jesus walking around with an AK-47. Never heard the story that Jesus met a single mom with three kids and told her she was a whore who should go work two jobs to take care of her kids. Also never heard the story where Jesus met a sick man who didn’t have health insurance and told him to die. And I also can’t imagine that Jesus ever said that the best way to help poor people was to make rich people richer. No, he in fact criticized the rich for ignoring the poor.

The reality is that the Republican party is not a religious party, it’s only by name a Christian party, but in reality they do the opposite of whatever the Bible tells. But in a smart way they based their existence on it. Keep people dumb and uninformed, tell them that the other party is against God, and by doing so guarantee the vote of the uninformed Christians, who don’t realize what they are voting for. In a smart and somewhat evil way they manipulate the people, and the result is that the GOP still manages to exist in a country where 95% of the people would be better off if they were voting for the Democrats.

The only other option in America is the Democratic party. Everyone is welcome. Religious or not, rich or poor. And the Democrats are actually the ones who are about freedom. If you believe in God you can live by those rules. If you don’t believe in God, no one is gonna force you to keep his rules. Freedom! The Democrats fight for a more honest country. Some within the Democratic party are more moderate, others are more to the left, but in the current situation, that all doesn’t matter. The alternative is something so bad and immoral that our differences are unimportant for now.

Lately I got to know someone who grew up with all the Conservative Christian lies. She’s a little bit naïve but started to check things out. She found out that everything they ever told her was based on lies. We already knew that but it was a shock for her to find out that Democrats are not against God. Actually a lot of them are Christians. Democrats are also not against the country, they work hard for it, they fight for it. Another big surprise was that Democrats are also not against family. Most of them actually have a family and they love their kids just as much as conservatives do.

Very simple stuff but if you never heard anything else than Republican propaganda it is a surprise. Still a little bit confused, lately she asked me, why all those people continue to spread those lies? Why would they do that, lying was wrong or not? So naïve it was almost cute.

She was convinced by ridiculously stupid crap like ‘Liberalism is a disease’. Just a line. The moon is green. Water is black. You can say anything. But even though simple lies like Democrats are against God and family, are not backed by anything, it still works. The victims of the lies of the fake Christians can’t imagine that someone would lie. There are no facts needed. The opinion itself is the thing that is supposed to prove the opinion. Only the evil and uninformed people will use that. The rest of us use facts. But it works for them!

A couple days ago Paul Ryan gave a speech. The speech turned out to be a historic speech with a world record number of lies in it. No surprise Paul Ryan is a convinced conservative Christian. He was confronted with those lies, even had to admit a couple of them. But for people like him that’s a daily routine.

I said it before and I say it again. There is a lot to win for us. Some people are evil. They talk about being a Christian all day long, but nothing they do shows that they really are Christians. It’s those people who every once in a while will go help the homeless, not because they care, but because others will see them in action. And the rest of their lives they complain that they have to pay taxes to make sure the less fortunate also have a chance in life. Everything they do is fake and they know it. They use whatever is needed to reach their goal. Especially lies. They are not worth our time.

But there are a lot of others who don’t know what they’re doing. They are the victims, who are brainwashed with lies, and it’s so simple to show them how things really are. The person I talked about was convinced that Obama was a liberal socialist moslem extremist communist or so. Seriously! He was also supposed to be against family, against religion, against America.

Not much later she is gonna vote for him. And the only thing that happened is show some facts and make her realize how brainwashed she was. And now that she sees how things really are she changed her mind. In an ultimate attempt, the manipulators warn her that ‘Liberalism is a disease’. But now she laughs at it, because now she knows the facts.

There is so much to win. There are millions in a situation like her. All their life they voted against their own interest. All based on lies. But they don’t know it. The evil part will never change. But we don’t need them. But if we can explain the brainwashed part how things really are, we will win this election by a landslide!

Because if what they want is freedom, if what they want is that the unfortunate also have a chance in life, if they want to live their lives without the Government telling them what to do, then Liberals, or lets say, Democrats, are the only option. We are about freedom for all. Not just freedom for some. And for those who think they should base their vote on religion, once they find out what the Democrats really want, they will be convinced.

I said it before and I will say it again, we shouldn’t give up on all Tea People. Some are lost causes. But many are brainwashed. The facts are on our side. They may start by saying that being a Democrat  is a disease, but in the end they will find out this is probably the only disease that is good to have!  Let’s go get them!

Watch out for the Tealiban

As I write this. American soldiers are risking their lives in Afghanistan, trying to fight religious extremists who want to force the rest of the world to live the way they think it should be. They changed the meaning of their religion and want to force all people to live by their self-made rules. It’s the exact opposite of freedom, it’s dangerous and it’s good that we are not giving them the chance.

And not only should we deny the Taliban the chance to do that, we should deny all religious groups the chance. There are not only extremists in Afghanistan, we also got them at home. In the land of the free, there is a movement that wants to force us all to live by their rules. Let’s call them Tealiban.

The Tealiban talks about freedom a lot. They even talk about freedom of religion. They do however want to forbid you to get an abortion if you’re raped because their interpretation of their religion says you can’t do it. If people are gay and want to get married they are not allowed to do it, because their interpretation of a religion forbids it. We can go through their whole agenda, none of it will turn out to have anything to do with freedom. They mention it a lot, but the only freedom they care about is that they will have the freedom to tell the rest of us what to do.

The Taliban and the Tealiban, their goal is the same. They want to forbid anyone who doesn’t agree with them, to live their lives the way they want to. The Tealiban’s methods, low as they are, are more decent than the methods their partners in Afghanistan use, but their goal is exactly the same.

This week the Tealiban is gathered in Tampa for the GOP convention. So far our troops have not been ordered to fight them there. Which is strange because why would we not allow one religious group to dictate our lives, but it’s ok if another group does it?

I don’t think any religion should be the foundation of a political system. A country should have a system based on rules made by human beings, not by a two thousand year old book that was written in an era in which the biggest challenge was to not be eaten by a bear.

But if people desperately want to use a religion to tell us how to live, then the first thing they should do is try to get it right! Somewhere between Jesus asking for a stay of all executions and his followers who can’t stop cheering executions, there seems to be a gap of information. Somewhere between Jesus who cared about those who were in need, even if it was their own fault, and his followers who refuse to help others because it’s their own responsibility, there seems to be some miscommunication. Somewhere between Jesus saying we shouldn’t judge others and a Tea movement that can’t stop judging women, gays, black, poor, sick and unemployed people, something must have gone wrong.

I don’t want to go too much into what Jesus did or didn’t do because I think it should be totally irrelevant for our political system. But the fact that the Tealiban doesn’t even try to do what their religion tells them to do, proves that their goal is something else. They use their religion to scare people off, to manipulate them, to brainwash them, to make them believe they know what God wants. They abuse a religion for political reasons.

While I write this there is a hurricane heading towards New Orleans. Yesterday I predicted that without a doubt Tealiban people were gonna say that this hurricane was a warning from God who tries to tell us that our country is going in the wrong direction. Today Michele Bachmann delivered.

If you ask Bachmann what God exactly meant with hurricane Katrina she won’t give you an answer. We had a Republican President back then, who pretty much exactly did what the Tealiban wants to happen, so there is not really an explanation. God wasn’t angry with us, it was just a disaster. But in this case it’s different. Obama is President now. Katrina meant nothing cuz we had Bush. Now we have Obama so now it’s a warning from God. Makes sense right?

You would expect that people are not dumb enough to be brainwashed by crap like this. But if someone says it’s Gods will, they won’t question it, because no one wants to argue with God. And for a lot of bible belt Christians it is now a fact that this hurricane is a warning from God. Things need to change, we have to get rid of Obama, even God said so, through the words of apostle Bachmann.

Let’s go back to the Taliban. They preach that their God hates America, their God hates Jews. They brainwash their people to fight against America, against Israel, based on wrong interpretations of a book. Their first victims are their own people, who totally brainwashed, hate us from the bottom of their hearts. Because they were told, almost forced, to hate us.

And at home we have the Tealiban. The Tealiban tries to abuse religion to tell you that God hates Obama, God hates liberals, God hates Democrats. And just like the Taliban, they base it on their interpretations of a book.

If we compare the Taliban to the Tealiban, there are not so many differences. Both try to brainwash their people, both will only allow you the freedom to agree with them, both use a God to try to get you to do what they want. Both use a God to try to spread hate against their opponents. Both abuse their religion to reach their own political goals. Both are enemies of freedom.

The only difference between the Taliban and the Tealiban is that the latter doesn’t use armed force yet. They probably won’t kill you if you don’t agree with them.

But both are an extreme danger to that one thing that is holy to all of us. They’re both a danger for the most important thing we have. Our freedom! And to protect our freedom, we should fight everyone who wants to take it away. The Taliban in Afghanistan and the Tealiban at home.
